Publications

We make available to you a range of self help literature that assist in helping individuals face today's life challenges with confidence.

Special Events

Here you can keep updated on special events that we are involved in, the most notable being Rebels With A Cause which is an annual gala that honours persons who have made outstanding contributions in the quest to make life better for all Nova Scotians, by improving services and supports, and giving a voice to those without the means to be heard..

Volunteers & Volunteer Opportunities

Our services would not be as great without the tremendous individuals who freely invest some of their time and skills to assist the cause and those in need. Many of our volunteers gain valuable, practical, work skills that they use in paid professions, so volunteering time is a great investment for their personal growth as well. Others volunteer because they like social work, but have careers in another field. Volunteering allows them to fulfill the enjoyment of helping others, while still maintaining their field of expertise. Some people volunteer because they have used the services in the past with success, and want to make sure those in need now are aware of what is available, and to give back to society. There are many reasons to volunteer, and much that can be gained from voluntarism so we have put together more detailed information for you in this section of our site.
...Nova Scotia would be a chaotic place to live if not for the tremendous efforts put forth by not-for-profits and the volunteers. (A wise woman)

Donations & Tickets

Much of our funding stems from individual and corporate donations, along with monies we raise through special events, ticket sales and fee based workshops. Without the support of individual Nova Scotians and Nova Scotia businesses we could not continue to improve and grow the services we offer, the results of which help to keep Nova Scotia a better place to live for all Nova Scotians. Please explore the ways you can make a financial contribution by reading about the donation options available to you.

Resource and Partner Links

Like all good organizations in the helping profession we know the importance of making those we serve aware of the resources and services available to them. In this section of the site we put links to resources and services that are often in high demand amongst the Nova Scotians and their families that we serve. Browse the listings, and if willing submit feedback on any resource you feel should be here.
